Cianti Stewart Reid serves as Vice President of Campaigns for Community and Youth Engagement at Truth Initiative. She joined Truth Initiative’s team in 2016 and has been igniting their grassroots strategy ever since. Cianti, like so many of the changemakers coming to Upswell that inspire us, is both passionate about investing in the next generation of leaders, and deeply inspired by the way young people in the U.S. have stepped up to bring about the change they want to see in their communities. Q: What drives you, what are you working on, and why are you inspired to make the world a better place?

CSR: I’m passionate about training leaders who will make progressive change in their communities. I’ve spent my career in politics and at nonprofits advocating for change and engaging young people in the issues that matter most in their communities.

Q: What’s your favorite way to relax?

CSR: Spending time on the beach and reading a book.

Q: Who or what are you inspired by right now – and why?

CSR: I’m inspired by the young people of this country who are demanding change and making it happen in their communities.

Q: What do you hope to leave Upswell with?

CSR: I’m hoping to walk away with more skills about incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into the work at my nonprofit.
