StoryCorps is coming to Upswell!
// By Jacqueline Brennan
StoryCorps, a national oral history project, is coming to Upswell’s Public Square this November and changemakers like you will have a chance to record your story in their MobileBooth.
Who has been the biggest influence on your life as a changemaker?
What lasting change have you made in your organization or community that you are most proud of?
How did a close professional or personal relationship help you achieve big impact for the people you serve?
These are some of the questions we will ask a pair of participants as they share how their friendship or professional relationship has made a lasting impact on their communities. Maybe you come from different backgrounds or had to bridge a divide to get to success. Maybe your personal connection unlocked doors that would not have led to the transformative impact you created. No matter the origin story, we are looking for changemakers willing to share how co-creation was key to powerful social change.
StoryCorps is an independent nonprofit whose mission is to provide people of all backgrounds and beliefs with the opportunity to record, share, and preserve the stories of our lives. Each interview is preserved at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress with the participants’ permission. Each week, millions listen to StoryCorps’ award-winning broadcasts on NPR’s Morning Edition. You can listen to stories at storycorps.org/listen.
If you’re interested in participating, contact Kristina Gawrgy Campbell at kristinac@independentsector.org. Space is limited. Both participants must be registered for Upswell Chicago to participate.
