Leveraging Technology to Support Hunger Relief
Traditional food pantries are working hard to fill the needs of nearly 1 in 8 people who struggle with hunger in Chicago. But for many, the long wait times and limited hours are at odds with their hectic lives. Lakeview Pantry and the Thierer Family Foundation jointly responded by leveraging technology to create the Online Market, enabling families to order no-cost groceries online and pick them up at a convenient time. RescueView – Increasing Resilience of Communities and Organizations Through Augmented Reality Innovations
Resilience Collaboration User Environment (ResCUE) View is a co-operative effort between Accenture and other partners in the “full-scope resilience” ecosystem. The objective is to use the world’s best technologies to save lives by increasing the resilience of communities and organizations against natural and man-made disasters, including cyber-attacks. To accomplish this, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithm is employed to sort through massive amounts of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) coupled with fully-optimized human response orchestration through an Augmented Reality (AR) interface. ResCUE View allows operators in a traditional Emergency Management Center (EOC) or Security Operations Center (SOC) to rapidly respond to more diverse and actionable data than previously possible, resulting in a Resilience Operations Center (ROC). The ROC goes beyond traditional operations centers by allowing a ROC team to “virtually co-locate” and perform their jobs, even if their physical operations center space is inaccessible or unsafe. The breadth of the data sources informing a ROC team’s activity is far broader than traditional emergency or cybersecurity data due to the patented “full-scope resilience” AI algorithm. The algorithm gathers OSINT on potential risks to the stability of an organization, even including financial, supply chain, public relations, human capital and other key operations.
