With over a decade of leadership experience straddling the for- and non-profit sectors, Amy excels in developing innovative solutions focused on metrics, systems and people in fast-paced and complex work environments. In her current role, she leads a team of senior small business consultants who provide coaching and entrepreneurial education to over 300 micro enterprises annually, driving economic development through job creation, providing access to capital and building density along neighborhood commercial corridors in collaboration with community partners and peers in Detroit’s small business ecosystem. Under her direction since 2017, the program has been recognized nationally for excellence in serving underrepresented entrepreneurs – creating and retaining over 150 jobs, securing over $4.5M in capital and launching 30 brick and mortar businesses in Detroit’s neighborhoods. Amy recently completed her two year tenure as a Detroit Revitalization Fellow. As a Fellow, she studied best practices in addressing systemic challenges in Detroit and similar urban cities marked by chronic racial inequity and disinvestment alongside local and national peers in civic, community and economic development. She is currently pursuing an MBA through Michigan State University’s Executive MBA program.
