Bio

Amy Turk is the Chief Executive Officer of the Downtown Women’s Center (DWC), the only organization in Los Angeles focused exclusively on serving and empowering women experiencing homelessness. Amy has worked in the homeless services and mental health field since 2001. She is a John A. Hartford Foundation Practice Change Leader award recipient for her efforts to improve healthcare for older adults experiencing homelessness, one of the founders of 1-in-4, a national social change movement to end homelessness among women, and a founder of the Los Angeles Domestic Violence Homeless Services Authority. Amy holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Pepperdine University and a master’s in social work from California State University, Los Angeles.
