Andrea Affeltranger is Chief Learning and Analytics Officer for Goodwill Industries International (GII), a social enterprise of independent, community-based organizations that offer customized training and services for individuals who want to find a job, pursue a credential or degree, and strengthen their finances. In her role she leads GII’s efforts to build systems and culture for effective use of data and to ensure GII learning opportunities focus on priority needs for expanding Goodwill social enterprise and mission impact.  She previously served as Chief of Staff, coordinating internal executive, governance and organizational activities on behalf of the CEO as well as strengthening integrated engagement across the structure of Goodwill’s network of members. Andrea has been with GII since 2012.

Prior to Goodwill, Andrea was Director of Nonprofit and Philanthropic Leadership and Practice at Independent Sector, a national coalition of charities and foundations, where she was instrumental in the development of Charting Impact, a common framework for communicating results; the NGen program for emerging leaders; and the Principles for Good Governance and Ethical Practice. Andrea also has experience with the Indiana Nonprofit Sector Project, United Way International, and the China Charity Federation. She received her MPA from Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs and a BA in English from Brigham Young University. She lives in Gaithersburg, MD with her husband and three young children.
