Bio

In 1994, Anne Haines founded Accion in Albuquerque, and has since led the dramatic expansion of the organization to serve a five-state region. As Accion’s President and CEO, Anne is recognized locally and nationally for her leadership and impact in microfinance and economic development.

Under Anne’s stewardship, Accion has been recognized with national honors that include the Access to Capital award from the US Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency and the Small Business Leader Award from Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses, the Surdna Foundation, and Opportunity Finance Network. Anne recently completed two terms as a director of the Denver Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wesleyan University and a Master’s degree in Management from the Atkinson Graduate School of Management of Willamette University.
