Currently residing in Chicago, IL, BJ Allen is an artist, educator, and curator. Their artwork reflects interests such as physics, politics, and contemporary philosophy, and they often combine image, sound, sculpture, and electronics. Allen’s work has been exhibited throughout the United States in galleries and festivals, and they are actively creating work and supporting their community. They earned an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts & Media from Columbia College Chicago in May 2016, a BFA in Interdisciplinary Expressive arts from Western New Mexico University in 2013, and also has a BA in Spanish.
