Bio

Brook brings 19 years of nonprofit leadership and fundraising experience to CCL, including work in independent schools, regional professional theater, United Way, and a statewide child welfare agency. At United Way, Brook served as the Vice President of Major Gifts when United Way of Greater Greensboro launched the Women’s Initiative and then worked with the United Way of America team to take the program nationwide and start an annual Summit on Women in Philanthropy. Brook also served on United Way of America’s Major Gifts Faculty and worked with UWA and McKinsey Consulting on the Impact Transformation Project. As Executive Vice President, she led United Way of Greater Greensboro’s fundraising, internal operations and culture change efforts.

Brook worked with both an independent school and regional theater to design and create fundraising systems and structures, realizing growth in corporate sponsorships, grants, and individual giving. She trained both staff and volunteers on how to make an “ask” and created opportunities for philanthropy to enhance and support an organization’s vision. As Vice President of Philanthropy for a statewide child welfare agency, Brook built a team of calling officers and event planners, creating an environment that both fostered accountability and grew a culture of philanthropy throughout the agency, while launching a multi-million-dollar capital campaign.
