Charmaine Webster is a versatile professional who specializes in start-up initiatives and community engagement. Her passion and calling is to empower and organize urban communities to achieve racial equity and social justice. She currently serves as the Director of Community Engagement & Outreach for Preschool Promise in Dayton, OH where she leads the media strategy and community education initiatives. In this role, Charmaine has made it a point to use her voice to advocate for Urban Childcare owners as well as young children of color and their families. Charmaine is an ordained minister. She has been a youth pastor, camp counselor and research assistant.
Locally, Charmaine serves on the YWCA Advocacy Board and is an alumna of the Women’s Leadership Collaborative of Greater Dayton, and Dayton’s Neighborhood Leadership Institute.
Nationally, she is a member of the Academy of Preachers and is a 2018-2019 Child Defender Fellow for the Children’s Defense Fund.
A native of Cincinnati, she received her bachelor’s degree in public policy from Duke University and a Master’s of Divinity from Emory University.
