Dr. Chris Omni is a nature-inspired Black Joy scholar, artist, and activist.  In her current position as a Provost Postdoctoral Scholar at Florida State University (FSU), she is scaling her doctoral research by exploring nature’s influence on the emotional, social, and physical well-being of Black people.

Dr. Omni’s honors include a 2023 second place victory during the 5MR (5-Minute Research) competition at FSU, a first place 3MT (3-Minute Thesis) win in 2021, the 2019 International Community Ambassador award presented by iChange Nations, the 2018 American Small Business Champion recognition presented by SCORE, and the 2015 Minority-owned business of the Year award presented by the Kansas Chamber of Commerce.
