Bio
Previously, Jaime has held senior roles at various social impact and public sector institutions. Jaime served as the Taproot Foundation’s Executive Director, Midwest based in Chicago where he led strategies, programs, development, and partnerships leveraging the skills of business professionals to social impact organizations. Jaime also served as the Senior Director for Outreach at the Big Shoulders Fund, the Chief Advisor to the Board of Trustees of the City Colleges of Chicago, and on the senior leadership team at the Chicago Public Schools, where he led the Office of New Schools.
Jaime has served as the Midwest Regional Director for Education for the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), now UnidosUS, the nation’s largest Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization, and as a regional Program Director of Teach For America, the national teacher corps whose members commit to raise achievement levels for students in public schools. Jaime has taught in the Chicago Public Schools, and began his career as a bilingual public school teacher as a Teach For America corps member in New Jersey.
Jaime holds a Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and a Master’s degree in Education from Harvard University. Since 2016, Jaime has served on the Chicago Public Schools Board of Education, as Vice President a role he continues to hold. Jaime was a 2012 Leadership Greater Chicago fellow and from 2011-2015, Jaime served on the Illinois State Charter School Commission by appointment of the Illinois State Board of Education.
