Bio

Jehan Benton-Clark is a Portfolio Director for The Colorado Health Foundation. The Colorado Health Foundation and KaBOOM! are partnering in a new pilot that gives communities flexibility to determine what they need. Collaborating with communities and building collective vision are Jehan’s passions and her life’s work. She knows that starting with health paves the way for a lifetime of possibilities. When Jehan joined the Foundation in 2016, she brought that perspective with her, and is committed to guiding the staff to interact with, listen to and learn from the communities they serve. Before joining the Foundation, Jehan worked in some of North Carolina’s lowest income communities, overseeing a long-term, place-based philanthropic initiative to improve the health of their residents. She knows that philanthropy has the potential to have a profound impact on communities — not only economically — but also by creating a culture shift or a social movement. Jehan spends much of her time traveling throughout urban and rural Colorado meeting with people who share why they love their communities and what might be done to improve them. Jehan received a BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of North Carolina and an MA from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration.
