Mikaela serves as the Executive Director of AchieveMission. She has led and supported many of our organizational projects, while working in partnership across the sector to build movement for the full integration of equity-informed leadership and talent practices. Mikaela began as an elementary school classroom teacher in an under-resourced school in Brooklyn, New York and soon sought to impact the system-level challenges she saw urban schools face. She has served as a founding charter school leader, c-suite nonprofit executive, program officer and coach in social justice nonprofits across the nation. In any space, Mikaela enables leaders to exercise leadership without formal authority, with the ample resources they have.
She has intentionally lived in and worked with diverse communities her entire career and is especially skilled at working across cultures and power dynamics. She currently serves on the national advisory boards of Equity in the Center and Fund the People, was in the inaugural cohort of the Seeding Disruption fellowship in Washington DC, and chairs the governance committee for the board of directors at Mundo Verde Public Charter School.
