Millicent Boykin is the Director of Statewide Initiatives for OneStar, a nonprofit that serves as the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives for Texas, and as a State Service Commission managing a portfolio of more than $30 million in federal grant funds for AmeriCorps. She oversees statewide networks, programs, and partnership initiatives focused on nonprofit capacity-building, community engagement, and volunteerism.  Prior to OneStar, she administered programs that supported 3,500 organizations and more than 100,000 volunteers as Chief Program Officer for VolunteerNow.

With more than two decades of experience in the nonprofit sector, Millicent knows how to leverage the power of people to address community issues and the need to build stronger nonprofit connections and collaborations to amplify sector impact.

A dedicated community volunteer, Millicent is currently on the Best Buddies North Texas Advisory Board, Read Up Advisory Council, and the Leadership Dallas Alumni Council. She is also an alum of Leadership ISD, and Leadership Texas, and is part of the inaugural Bridging Fellows class hosted by Independent Sector.

Millicent was born in East Texas but ventured north to the “Windy City” for college and holds a degree in Psychology from Northwestern University. Her passion for service is exemplified by one of her favorite quotes, “I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something.  And I will not let what I cannot do, interfere with what I can do.”
