Community Dinner 1: Dinner at Paul Quinn College

Paul Quinn College is a private, faith-based, four-year, liberal arts-inspired college that was founded on April 4, 1872, by a group of African Methodist Episcopal Church preachers in Austin, Texas. The school’s original purpose was to educate freed slaves and their offspring. Today, PQC proudly educates students of all races and socio-economic classes under the banner of its institutional ethos, WE over Me. Located in Dallas, Paul Quinn College continues to grow its position as the first urban work college. For that title, the school is a federally recognized institution where students spend part of their week learning through a job or paid internship and the rest of their time spent in academic classes. Under the New Urban College Model, students graduate with less than $10,000 in student loan debt. During this dinner, participants will have an opportunity to tour the campus and hear experiences from faculty, stakeholders and current students of the college. Community Dinner 2: Break Bread, Break Borders

Break Bread Break Borders is a social enterprise empowering refugee women economically, through the storytelling of food and culture. Every meal cooked in their global kitchen is making everlasting social impact. They break bread with the community and break down borders at the same time. Meet at the registration desk at 5:30 pm
Community Dinner 3: St. Rocco’s

St. Rocco’s, located in Trinity Grove, serves up classic Italian food with a fantastic view of the Dallas skyline from their open rooftop. Meet at the registration desk at 5:30 pm

Community Dinner 5: Restaurant Beatrice
Pre-registration is required. Please visit the registration desk onsite (Skybridge Registration (2nd Floor, Convention) or email info@upswell.org if you’re interested in attending. Space is limited. Restaurant Beatrice is focused on advancing Cajun and Creole cuisine along with sustainable food practices. They strive to work with locally-sourced produce to minimize waste and are one of the few restaurants in the US undergoing the B-Corp Certification process. This dinner will be held under a covered patio. Please make sure to dress appropriately in case of cooler weather. Meet at the registration desk at 5:30 pm
