Bio

Amanda is an independent consultant with over 25 years of experience in the nonprofit and public sectors. As VP of Programs and Practice at Independent Sector, she led efforts to strengthen nonprofit sector leadership, accountability, and effectiveness, and led the 2015 update of the Principles for Good Governance and Ethical Practice.

As EVP at Convergence Center for Policy Resolution, Amanda oversaw several national dialogues bridging ideological divides, and led Convergence’s work in field building, partnership development, strategic planning, and board governance.

Previously, she served as Chief Education Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Labor and Human Resources and as Legislative Counsel to the New York City Office of Management and Budget.

Amanda has taught ethics in nonprofit master’s degree programs at Columbia University and the University of Pennsylvania. She received her J.D. from New York University School of Law and B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University.
