Bio

Funke Ajenikoko, MPH, is a Senior Policy Analyst at the American Heart Association covering our nutrition, obesity, and air quality portfolio. In her role, Funke works with leading experts around the world to translate nutrition and health science into policy that serves as the foundation for AHA’s advocacy work. Prior to joining AHA, Funke worked for Resolve to Save Lives, an initiative of Vital Strategies, as a Program Officer for Nutrition and Surveillance. Her work at Resolve largely focused on implementing sodium reduction policies and interventions at the country and global level as well as working on the global advocacy portfolio. She also previously served as a Project Coordinator on a weight management study at the Manhattan Veteran Affairs hospital and as a Nutritionist for the Women, Infant, and Children program in Dallas, Texas. Funke currently holds a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from the University of Texas at Austin and Master of Public Health in Public Health Nutrition from New York University.
