Bio
Luis Quijano is a deputy project director for the Community Engagement Exchange (CEE) and Community Solutions Programs (CSP) at IREX. In this role, he oversees the entire participant experience including partner relations as well as finance and compliance.
Previously, Luis worked as a two-time Fulbright Grantee in Porto Alegre, Brazil, coordinated international programming at Miami Dade College’s Office of International Education, and supported ECA programming at the Institute of International Education. Luis remains committed to advancing access to quality education and leadership development, both international and domestic, largely within marginalized communities. He has sat on committees including NAFSA’s Subcommittee on Diversity and Inclusion and CubaOne Foundation’s Selection Committee.
Luis received a B.A. in political science, international studies, and Spanish from Loyola University Chicago in 2012. He has a passion for travel, cooking, and learning new languages.
